Welcome to Mala Designs’ immersive garden experience, where keiki are invited to explore the rich heritage of native Hawaiian and canoe plants while connecting with the traditions that have shaped Hawaiʻi for generations. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, children will discover the cultural significance of these plants and gain insight into lāʻau lapaʻau, the traditional Hawaiian practice of plant-based healing.

Activities such as poi pounding, lei making, and interactive garden exploration foster a deeper understanding of Hawaiian history, culture, and stewardship of the land. Set within a thoughtfully designed landscape featuring a traditional Hawaiian hale and beautifully terraced gardens, this living classroom provides an inspiring environment for learning, discovery, and meaningful connection to Hawaiʻi’s natural and cultural heritage.
